  Dr. Maggie Shuler is the BEST retina surgeon within, conservatively, about 300-500 miles! Do your research, if you have time before your eyes completely fail (like mine did!). She treated me very well; her bedside manner is second to none. She won't brag it to you, but I was able to find out that she studied at one of the most well-respected eye programs in the USA. If you or someone you care about-or don't care about- has ANY kind of retina issues, please help that person know about Dr. Maggie Shuler. She's got blessed hands that work miracles in my eyes, because by some estimates, I shouldn't even be able to see, at all (I was in total darkness), but she not only helped me see "something", she helped restore most of my previous vision. I am forever in her debt, because I may yet live to SEE my grandchildren (who do not yet exist). For the folks worried about how long it takes to be seen, I empathise, truly I do. But, if you're more concerned about expedience than quality of care, then perhaps you may want to think about pursuing other options so the rest of us who really appreciate the extremely high level of care that this wonderful lady pours out to her patients can be examined and treated.
